Annual Electronics Recycling Day in East Atlanta

By Carlen Ruth Hultgren

Saturday, March 23 will be a busy day in East Atlanta Village (EAV) with several events happening: a poker tournament, a neighbor meet-and-greet,  and an electronics recycling event. What better task to check off your list than de-cluttering your old, used, or broken electronics and dropping them off at the Electronics Recycling Day in East Atlanta.

Marc Takacs and the team at Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Midtown have again partnered with Ecycle Atlanta and Nate Minor of Screenfixing.com to organize this recycling day in East Atlanta Village.

Ecycle Atlanta will accept old electronics like routers, switches, cable boxes, and DVRs. If in doubt, and it is not too big, bring it down.  Screenfixing.com will take old cell phones and tablets off your hands. Items will be fixed and donated or used for parts and disposed of responsibly.

This year, as a special treat to those looking for furry additions to their family, PAWS Atlanta, a longtime no-kill shelter (www.pawsatlanta.org) will be bringing adoptable four-legged friends. This is an event for the whole family, so plan on dropping off clutter, falling in love with a furball, watching a few hands of poker, and having a little lunch or doing some shopping in the Village.

Donations to Neighbor in Need will be based on the volume of electronics that are brought in, so bring all you can find. The event will be held at the EAV Farmer’s Market at 572 Stokeswood Avenue across from The Midway Pub from 10:00am to1:00pm.
