Last month, the East Atlanta Library hosted an event to celebrate National Friends of the Library Week.  This event honored twenty three Friends groups, from all over the Atlanta-Fulton Library System.
A special congratulation goes to the system’s Friends groups winning the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The GOLD Award for 1,000 + hours went to the Alpharetta, East Roswell, Milton, Northeast/Spruill Oaks, Northside, Roswell, and Sandy Springs branches. The SILVER Award for 500-999 hours went to the Dogwood, East Atlanta, Ocoee, and Palmetto.  And the BRONZE Award for 200-499 hours went to Adams Park, Metropolitan, Northwest, and Peachtree branches.
Library volunteers help every day, making libraries a passion and a priority in our city. Support your local public library by visiting often and supporting fundraising events and book sales.  The East Atlanta Branch is located at 400 Flat Shoals Avenue.
