Over the past four years, the Friends of East Atlanta Library has been very successful raising funds and providing programming for our local library. Our yearly earnings from book sales, membership and business sponsorships totals near $10,000 or more. These earnings are the result of the hard work of a small group of volunteers. Each dollar that FEAL earns goes back into the library to fund the children’s programs, adult programs, and the FEAL-sponsored programs.
The Atlanta-Fulton County Library System recognizes the East Atlanta Library as the busiest library for its size. This support from the Friends group means the difference between mediocre and truly quality programming for our neighborhood youth and adults. FEAL is proud to be able to grant funding requests from the library staff on a regular basis. Without the FEAL volunteers this would not be possible! Many of our current officers have been on the FEAL board and working tirelessly for five or more years. We need your help!
We are seeking energetic and creative people to help us keep the ball rolling and improve for the future. We are very open to new ideas and strategies. If you have just a few hours each month to ensure that your library will remain the best (and busiest) neighborhood library in the Atlanta Fulton Public Library System, please contact the current FEAL President, Gina Root at friendsofeal@gmail.com or message through our Friends of East Atlanta Library Facebook page. I would love to sit down and speak with you about what you can do to help our awesome little library! Thank you!
