Val is 78% Pomeranian according to an online DNA test, and 22% “Unresolved,” so the world will never know his true mix! Our best guess based on family members is that the rest of his mix is Eskie (American Eskimo Dog) and Rat Terrier. Val is 7 years old (8 in November). We rescued him from Angels Among Us back in December of 2019, not long before COVID hit!
Val is East Atlanta Famous — I parade him around the Flatiron block every evening, and he knows hundreds of people and dogs in the neighborhood. His best dog friends are Hoku, a cattle dog who lives on Blake Avenue with my friend Kim, and Kingsley, a Goldendoodle who lives in some condos nearby. We have a fully fenced yard and have invited neighbors for play dates.
He is also the mascot for my business (an IT company), and on the start menu icon for my operating system. We have a growing collection of Val art created for us by friends and by commission. Generally, he is one of the coolest dudes I have met. He makes everyone so happy and I feel it is my duty to show him off to the world!
