It’s November, but Oakland is already full of the holiday spirit. Our annual Holiday Spirit celebration begins December 5 and 6 with our Holiday Market and Tour of Eternal Homes, and this year we are adding something new & special – a Community Christmas Lighting. Expect photos with Santa, food trucks & seasonal beverages, kids’ craft and snow, holiday market shopping, and more. See www.oaklandcemetery.com/holiday-spirit-2025 for more information.
While it’s not quite time to deck the halls, it is never too early to get your holiday decor squared away. Now through December 1, you can order fresh and fragrant Fraser fir wreaths from Historic Oakland Foundation’s Annual Wreath Sale and decorate your home, hearth, porch, or your family plot with some holiday cheer. Sourced from a North Carolina farm, our handcrafted wreaths can be customized and embellished with bows hand-tied by Oakland volunteers or mixed greenery harvested from Oakland’s gardens. Pre-order your wreath and greenery online for the best selection of greenery and embellishments. Funds raised from our wreath sale support the continued upkeep, preservation, and restoration of Oakland and the Cemetery’s beautiful gardens. See the elections at www.oaklandcemetery.com/wreath-sale.
Wreaths, greenery, and kits purchased online can be picked up at our Holiday Market at Holiday Spirit on Friday, December 5 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, December 6 from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
