GRANT PARK

Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Cemetery Halloween Tours. October 16-19 & October 23-26. Tours from 5:00pm-11:00pm will bring to life the stories of historic Oakland Cemetery’s residents as costumed docents guide guests through the Cemetery’s beautifully-lit Victorian gardens. The evening also includes musical performances, and guests are encouraged to arrive in costume to set the mood.

Pumpkin Patch at Oakland Cemetery. October 4 &5. This FREE two-day, family-friendly fall festival celebrates the season with a variety of autumn and Halloween activities for everyone. For more information, visit oaklandcemetery.com/events/pumpkin-patch.

Oakland Cemetery Columbarium Public Pre-Sale. Historic Oakland Cemetery will soon offer Atlantans a fresh, respectful way to become part of its storied grounds. For the first time in over 140 years, the cemetery is planning to construct a columbarium—a granite structure of niche spaces for cremated remains. Located between East Hill and the historic African American Burial Grounds, the project will transform an unused roadway into a serene memorial garden, blending stunning Victorian-inspired landscaping with ornate design details that echo Oakland’s iconic monuments. Niches will go on public pre-sale starting September 3, welcoming individuals of all backgrounds. Proceeds will support the cemetery’s preservation and maintenance efforts.

Oakland Cemetery’s Fall Break Camp. October 13-17, 9:00am-4:00pm, plus aftercare through 5:30pm. Young adventurers age 6 to 11explore a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, with Oakland Cemetery and the Visitor Center as their campus and classroom. Atlanta Streets Alive. Sunday, October 26, 2:00pm-6:00pm from West End to Grant Park. Georgia Ave to Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW. Atlanta Streets Alive opens streets temporarily for constituents to bike, walk, skate, dance, and play. It’s free to the public; the event turns the street into a park space that connects our city! Atlanta Streets Alive is part of an international open-streets movement happening in many cities throughout the U.S., Canada, and around the world.

Free Costume Closet at the EAV Famers Market. Thursday, October 9, 4:00pm-7:00pm. This event is open to all community members who want a costume. If you have costumes to donate, please drop off on the porch at 1088 Mercer Street by Wednesday, October 8. All sizes welcome.

EAV-O-Ween. Saturday, October 25. 2:30pm-5:00pm. East Atlanta Village Business District. Brought to you by the East Atlanta Business Association (EABA). 2:30pm-3:30pm: Costume contest. 3:30pm-500pm: Trick-or-Treat in EAV. Participating businesses will be handing out treats and goodies!

Shmooze-A-Palooza. Saturday, November 15. 2:00pm-6:00pm in the EAV Farmers Market Lot, 572 Stokeswood Avenue, and 6:30pm-11:00pm at 529 Flat Shoals Avenue. Brought to you by The East Atlanta Business Association (EABA) and the Southern Shmooze. A networking/business/social event that supports local small business and East Atlanta You can expect a meet and greet with local businesses including home repair services, dog walkers, etc. There will be giveaways, raffles, and discounts. Starting at 6:30pm, the party starts at 529 with local band. All proceeds from ticket sales will go right back into the East Atlanta community. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Proceeds from ticket sales and all donations will be used to continue the Georgia Works weekly cleanup program in East Atlanta village.

Giving Thanks Community Potluck. Thursday, November 20, 4:00pm-7:00pm. East Atlanta Village Farmers Market. 572 Stokeswood Avenue. Giving Thanks Community Potluck, the grand finale of the 2025 EAV Farners Market season is back. All are invited to bring a dish to share with friends and neighbors in our traditional end-of-season community potluck. This event is free and open to the public. The market will stay open till about 5:30pm so you can grab holiday ingredients and gifts from your favorite vendors. If you are bringing a dish, please arrive by 5:30, and label it for dietary restrictions Bring your own cup, plates, and utensils to reduce waste Stop by the info booth to write a thank you note to your favorite vendors and take a survey for Dress warm if a chill is in the air or sit by the fire pit.

Ormewood Park Makers Festival. Saturday, October 18 at the intersection of Delaware and Woodland Avenues. We believe that to “make” is to create, through craftsmanship, artistic ingenuity and sheer homegrown talent. The Ormewood Park Makers Festival, presented by SAND, seeks to showcase our local makers, as well as provide an opportunity for community participation and learning. Nonprofits and neighborhood organizations are also encouraged to participate in the festival to better engage our neighborhood and the surrounding communities.

2nd Annual Red’s Fall Fest. Live Music, Pumpkin Patch & Fun! Sunday, October 26, 1:00pm-6:00pm at Red’s Farm Preserve, 703 Naomi Street. Join us for our second annual Red’s Fall Fest! An autumnal celebration bringing together our wonderful community while honoring the life and legacy of our founder, Brian “Farmer Red” Harrison (d. October 7, 2022).
