Urban Farm in Ormewood is happy to announce the 2nd annual Red’s Fall Fest on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Red’s Farm Preserve in Ormewood Park. Together, we will gather with our neighbors to celebrate the harvest season and honor our founder, Brian “Farmer Red” Harrison, who passed away in October of 2022.
Farmer Red purchased multiple properties that make up the farm in the early 1990s and invited neighbors to garden, walk, and explore the land’s beauty ever since. He was dedicated to cultivating a space for our community to gather and connect with nature. Red’s Fall Fest honors his life and legacy, while also supporting Urban Farm in Ormewood (UFO)’s ability to further his vision for the space.
This free and family-friendly festival will take place rain or shine and features live music, craft workshops, a pumpkin patch, and an artisan market. Parking is limited, so we encourage neighbors to walk or bike to Red’s Farm Preserve, located at 703 Naomi Street.
Over the last year, UFO has only continued to grow! In October of 2024, the City of Atlanta Parks Department secured the property as Red’s Farm Preserve, marking Ormewood’s first official park and the first city-owned urban farm. The following March, UFO hosted local leaders, community members, and the Harrison Family for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mayor Dickens, celebrating the opening of Red’s Farm Preserve as a City of Atlanta park.

We have since expanded the UFO gardening program by adding 15 raised beds, thanks to a grant from ATL R.O.O.T.S, which allowed us to welcome dozens of new gardeners to our space. Additional grant funding from Food Well Alliance is helping us grow our urban farm through new irrigation supplies, a cover cropping system that enriches our clay-rich soil, and repairs to the farm’s long dilapidated greenhouse this fall.
UFO also re-established Red’s quarterly potluck tradition this Summer Solstice, inviting neighbors and friends to join us in celebrating the change of seasons and providing a space for community fellowship.
Our neighbor-led organization has earned its status as a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, helping us uphold Farmer Red’s legacy and further his vision for the farm as a beloved community hub and ecological sanctuary promoting a healthier, happier neighborhood.
We are excited to gather with our community for the 2nd annual Fall Festival and continue growing Red’s Farm! Volunteers, sponsors, and artisans are encouraged to apply to join us for the Fest. Applications close on September 26, 2025.
Please visit our website at www.redsfallfest.com to learn more about how you can participate and help make the festival a memorable event. Proceeds from Red’s Fall Fest directly supports Urban Farm in Ormewood, which helps us continue Farmer Red’s legacy of building community, stewarding this treasured greenspace, and hosting educational programming that encourages us all to connect to nature.
We hope you’ll join us!
