Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) has been named the 2025 Georgia Charter School of the Year by the Georgia Charter Schools Association (GCSA). This prestigious recognition celebrates ANCS’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, student-centered learning, and community engagement.
This marks the second time in the school’s history that ANCS has received this distinguished honor, having previously won in 2015. As a K-8 public charter school, ANCS continues to set the standard for innovative, collaborative, and high-quality education, serving as a model for schools across the state.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the Georgia Charter Schools Association,” said Alastair Pullen, Executive Director of ANCS. “This award is a testament to the dedication of our students, educators, families, and community partners, who work together to create a nurturing and empowering learning environment.”
The Georgia Charter School of the Year award highlights schools that exhibit a bold vision for success and employ innovative strategies through unique programming, effective community and civic partnerships, and creative problem-solving approaches. ANCS has consistently excelled in these areas, with a focus on hands-on, project-based learning, a dedication to culture and engagement, and a school community that fosters both academic growth and social-emotional development.
The award was announced at the annual GCSA Charter Schools Conference in Atlanta, where ANCS was recognized for its continued excellence in public education. Along with the title, ANCS received a $5,000 grant to support its educational programs.
ANCS extends its gratitude to the Georgia Charter Schools Association for this recognition and to the entire ANCS community for their continued support. As the school celebrates this milestone, it remains committed to its mission of empowering students, engaging families, and enriching the greater Atlanta community.
