On Friday night, December 1, the IST Management Services building at 1341 Moreland Avenue, was awash in Flamingo pink. No, not a tribute to Barbie, but the Halidom Eatery Pink Christmas Soiree,’ a vibrant Miami carnival atmosphere including silver sequined dancers and stilt walkers. Guests were invited to feast on a rich array of food choices, spectacular desserts, and of course, pink champagne, just a hint of what is to come.
Halidom Eatery, a food and beverage community slated to open spring 2024, is positioned to service the surrounding neighborhoods of East Atlanta Village, Glenwood Park, Ormewood Park, Boulevard Heights, Woodland Hills, Gresham Park, and Chosewood Park. The goal is to align with the community desire for food that is close to home and convenient, and to ensure that the overall concept, including space for public and private events, resonates with the neighborhoods.
Drawing from community feedback, Hal Blackman, IST’s President and CEO, and his team, are putting together a lineup of eleven unique food and beverage vendors, offering local and regional cuisine and libations. Plans include a plush bar, an elite event area, lounges, and collaborative zones, warm with tropical Art Deco inspired colors, while outside a 2-acre outdoor greenspace awaits, curated for family fun. Specifically designed to host public events and private gatherings, Halidom will engage in weekly, family-friendly programs. Blackman said, “In our year at this location we’ve sensed from nearby residents that they are longing for a vibrant and new communal space.”
This new 13,000 square foot hall will include a number of conveniences with the purpose of meeting the community where they live and work, including indoor and outdoor seating for over 440, abundant parking, including a designated area for residents, a streamlined order and pick-up service, third party delivery options, and more. In the inaugural phase of this mixed used domain, Halidom will also include apartments and retail spaces, above the food hall. Look for the grand opening next spring.
