The Grant Park Recreation Center

By Talis Spalvins
The Grant Park Recreation Center is now open to the public. Come out and see the renovated facility, and check out the exciting programs! They offer opportunities for exercise, academic enhancement, character and leadership development, skill development, and top-notch youth and adult sports leagues.
If you have a child in grades K-8 who needs a safe and enriching environment from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, they are proud to offer you a growing after-school program. Enrollment is still open and is available to all residents of the Grant Park neighborhood. The cost is $35 per week. Slots are still available and filling up fast. They are also offering discounts to parents who decide to get their children involved in one of their city sports programs. Children enrolled in Grant Park after-school are picked up at their school, given snacks, and two hours of tutoring and homework assistance with a certified teacher, Miss Marie, followed by enrichment activities such as Social Service learning and field trips. They look forward to meeting you and helping your children grow.
If your teen needs to fulfill their community service hours, and would like to assist with tutoring or being a mentor, they are welcome to join at no cost. All children involved in the after-school program also get the opportunity to participate in Social Service learning, a program brought free of charge by the people of Penn State University.
They will gladly host your events here at Grant Park Recreation Center; the facility rental prices are very competitive. They rent facilities out for sport leagues, club gatherings, family reunions, and much more.
