9th Annual Charity Poker Tournament Returns to East Atlanta

By Nancy Carpenter and Dawn Rivera

Neighbor in Need – East Atlanta and Midway Pub will once again be hosting the very popular Charity Poker Tournament on March 23. The event will be held at Midway Pub located at 522 Flat Shoals Avenue in East Atlanta starting at 10:00am, with the last hand ending at 1:00pm.

Come join the fun to win great prizes and bragging rights, while supporting a deserving local charity, Neighbor in Need-East Atlanta. Atlanta Poker Club’s “Poker with a Purpose” will deal the cards to 50 lucky players. That’s right, there are only 50 spots, so get on it!  First prize is $500 with multiple other prizes.

It’s free to play; 300 chips get you started. After that, each donation level wins you more chips: $20 donation = 2,000 chips; $40 donation = 4,500 chips; $60 donation = 7,500 chips; $100 donation = 15,000 chips.

This is a family event with the East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) hosting a meet-and-greet for new neighbors at the same time.

The annual East Atlanta Electronics Recycling Event will also be happening right across the street at the Farmers Market, so bring your old electronics to drop off for recycling, play in or watch the tournament, and meet your neighbors. Afterwards, everyone can stick around to watch the games of March Madness or have a late brunch in the Village.
