15th Annual East Atlanta Craft Beer Festival Returns

By Carlen Ruth Hultgren
The 15th Annual East Atlanta Craft Beer Festival returns to the Village on May 19, once again under the majestic oaks and maples of East Atlanta’s Brownwood Park. This year’s popular festival will feature a sampling of more than 200 craft beers. All ticketholders receive a souvenir tasting glass, and VIP ticketholders receive early entry and a bevy of special and limited edition beers to sample. There will be food trucks/vendors and great music, too. Since 2004, the East Atlanta Foundation has returned ALL proceeds from this 100 % volunteer-created and volunteer-staffed event to local organizations and projects that make East Atlanta a great place to live.
VIP Admission includes early entry to the festival beginning at 12:00pm (one hour earlier than General Admission). You’ll receive a wristband, a tasting glass, and access to 200 plus beers. You will also have access to the VIP area, at least 12 specialty beers only available to VIPs, and VIP bathrooms. The cost is $80, available only while tickets last. General Admission entry runs from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, and includes a wristband, a tasting glass, and access to 200 plus beers. The cost is $60. All admissions are ages 21 and over.
The festival has generously offered a special discount promo code available to Porch Press readers: PORCHPRESSREADER. Use this code when purchasing your tickets online only.
When you buy a ticket to East Atlanta Beer Festival, 100% of the proceeds go to the East Atlanta Foundation and its mission to raise awareness of the East Atlanta neighborhood and the East Atlanta Village small-business district within the larger metropolitan Atlanta area. Second, it generates funds to be provided as grants to local groups engaged in projects that benefit the East Atlanta neighborhood. The East Atlanta Foundation, Inc., (“EAF”) and it’s a non-profit 501(c)(3). EAF is a totally volunteer-powered organization. No person obtains any financial benefit from it, other than the vendors from whom items are rented (tents and stages) or services purchased (security).
The East Atlanta Foundation supports a variety of local organizations and initiatives and has distributed more than half a million dollars in grants. Proceeds from the events, including the East Atlanta Craft Beer Festival and New Year’s EAV, have been provided to: BATL – Battle of Atlanta Commemoration Org, Inc.; Branan Towers Retirement Community; Burgess-Peterson Academy, our neighborhood public elementary school; East Atlanta Business Association; East Atlanta Community Association (“EACA”); East Atlanta Kids Club; East Atlanta Village Farmer’s Market; East Lake YMCA; FitWit Foundation; Friends of East Atlanta Library; Historic Sylvester Cemetery; Journey Performing Arts Center/Dance 411 Foundation; Martha Brown United Methodist Church; and Neighbor in Need – East Atlanta, which funds home repairs for East Atlanta residents who are unable to do so on their own.
