2017 Neighbor in Need in Need Gala Is a Wrap

By Carlen Hultgren

Neighbor in Need East Atlanta (NIN) and East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) want to extend sincere thanks for the generous sponsorship and donations for the recent gala, the Greatest Show in EAV. These contributions will guarantee that the organization can continue to effectively provide low income seniors with emergency home repairs.

The Greatest Show in EAV was a spectacular evening filled with delicious food and cocktails, jovial music, and lively talent that lit up the Big Tent. Supported by many volunteers that worked to put together this memorable event in such a short amount of time, occasions such as this demonstrate the true sense of community in East Atlanta, and the dedication and support to worthy charities such as Neighbor in Need.

This year’s event raised over $16,500 in financial donations, with an additional $10,150 in combined ticket and raffle sales for the gala. $5,500 was received through in-kind donations including marketing, social media, electrical and technical equipment, food, beverage, print, banners, and entertainment.

While there is a long list of both financial and in-kind sponsors, too long to list everyone here, NIN and EACA, as well as those that enjoyed the gala, are grateful for the continued patronage of local businesses and neighbors who supported this and other events that make east Atlanta a great place to live and conduct business.

Year to date 2017, Neighbor in Need East Atlanta has completed over 34 repair projects costing over $31,000. Since its inception in 2010, Neighbor in Need has completed over 170 repair projects costing over $148,000. Thanks to your support, the mission of keeping low-income seniors safe and comfortable in their homes can continue.
